Transhumanist Cephalopod Evolution
a psycho-physical training regime
that embraces the cephalopod (octopus, squid, cuttlefish, nautilus) as the new model for human evolution. In an ever-more-wetting world, we train new sensitivities and capacities, for a human enhancement located in developing cephalopod abilities - tactile intelligence, shapeshifting abilities, and distributed intelligence.

A research into cephalopod intelligence, interspecies relations, the ideologies that guide innovation, and underwater transhumanist futures. Transhumanist Cephalopod Evolution positions the non-mammalian ocean animal as an evolutionary role model; embraces the capacities residing in the existing biological human system, looks towards indigenous forms of deep ocean bodily labors; advocates for a centering of non-anthropocentric and embodied knowledges for the project of innovation; and embraces training as a technology, as an augmentation - one rooted in practice, development of internal abilities, and equity in access. Movement practice inspired by and developed in collaboration with luciana achugar.
